The right words at the right time

A galley copy of journalist Robert Novak's memoir "The Prince of Darkness" came in yesterday from Crown Forum. The gossips will mine barbed comments about some conservative journalists. Novak, who opposed the Iraq War, still chafes at the treatment he got at the hands of David Frum in the famous "Unpatriotic Conservatives" cover story in National Review. Novak, though not a paleocon, was listed as one of the "unpatriotic conservatives" who, in Frum's words, "In a time of danger ... turned their backs on their country. Now we turn our backs on them."
